 Destinations

Meaning 'Gold' in Arabic, Dahab is 95km north east of Sharm El Sheikh and has managed to keep its laid back appeal, originally discovered by backpackers in the late '70's and early '80's. Based around two bays, it remains quite bohemian, being enjoyed by backpackers and tourists alike. Restaurants tend to be a family affair and in the shops the age old Egyptian custom of bartering is still very much alive and well, so be warned!! Its proximity to the Sinai Mountains make it an ideal base for exploring the desert and seeing how the indigenous bedouins live, the coloured canyon and St Catherine's Monastery.

Diving

The diving in Dahab is shorebased but this doesn't mean you lose quality. There are many drop offs here making the topography very interesting indeed, the most famous site being the 'Blue Hole'.

3* Coral Coast

4* Dahabeya

5* Hilton
