22 km north of Hurghada, this purpose built tourist resort has, through meticulous planning, achieved a considerable charm and ambience. It may seem strange to highlight the point, being by the coast, but you do have the feeling that you are surrounded by water. This is due to the many waterways and lagoons incorporated into the design. Another quirk that benefits the holiday maker is that hotels, restaurants and dive centres work in conjunction with each other. Hotels and restaurants have teamed up to offer guests a Dine Around system which extends their choice at little or no extra cost if you are on a half board basis. The dive schools confer with each other to try and make sure that they do not attend a dive site at the same time. It is this attention to detail that makes your stay that much more pleasurable.

 

El Gouna has been awarded four Green Globe Certificates. It endeavours to increase public awareness, has ongoing recycling, eradicating plastic bags, conservation of flora, fauna, and sea life.

Diving

The great draw for divers are the many wrecks that can be accessed from El Gouna. Abu Nuhas, which has claimed the Giannis D, Chrissioula & Carnatic, the Thistlegorm and Rosalie Muller are all within a day trip. New for 2005 we can now offer a two night mini safari that allows you to combine a land based package with quality time at these wrecks.
