Workshop Structure

Having first of all assessed the standard of each participant be it beginner or more advanced, Jeff talks in some depth on how to get the best out of your camera. Jeff shows you how to film marine life in terms of technical quality as well as understanding how to get the most from a reef or wreck in terms of animal behavior. You do need your own cameras and laptops for editing. Please contact Jeff for any pre-course advice.

It is not possible to take decent underwater pictures while on a normal dive trip. Dive guides are usually too busy "towing" a group or your buddy gets fed-up with waiting for you while you try to concentrate on a subject.

This is precisely why Hidden Depths Dive Tours have decided to organise dedicated photography trips where the main objective is to bring back good images and share experiences about underwater photography.

      Marsa Nakari Eco Resort

ECOLODGE NAKARI VILLAGE is the younger and smaller brother of ECOLODGE SHAGRA VILLAGE and has its own house reef. It is located 78km South of Marsa Alam Airport. The Village is situated opposite of Dolphin House reef and has no resorts in direct sight. Ecolodge Nakari Village combines the peace and quiet of the desert with the personal touch of a professional and fun staff that will make you feel at home. The village houses 28 chalets, 11 huts and 25 tents. Nakari Village was already used as a port city in the early Roman period - remains of the ancient settlement can been seen on a hill overlooking the sea - the bay is a natural shelter along the coastline. ECOLODGE NAKARI VILLAGE was designed with the well-being and comfort of the guests in mind and to offer the best access to the diving sites of the area.

      Diving Programme

      • House Reef Diving

The bay of ECOLODGE NAKARI VILLAGE has a superb house reef which houses many species of fish, a variety of hard corals, and offers excellent night diving possibilities as many nocturnal fish congregate here to feed. The bay is shallow, starting from 1-10 m in depth and slowly dropping as it reaches the outside walls of 40-50m in depth. The standard diving package includes unlimited dives on the house reef either starting from shore or using the inflatable to explore the fringing reef on the north and south side of the bay. Divers can enjoy the freedom of diving at their own pace and time from early morning dive at sun rise to night dive.

      Boat Diving

The in-range boat diving program allows divers to re-discover stunning dive sites such as Shaab or Habili Nakari and to explore new dive sites with beautiful corals and marine life like South Garden, Sharm Hesham and Ras Samadai. It only takes 30 minutes to reach the reef of Shaab Samadai, also known as Dolphin House. Boat dives for day trips are organized upon request to visit this famous horse shoe shaped reef that not only offers two breathtaking dives, but also offers the possibility to snorkel with a group of spinner dolphins.
