Destinations we offer > Maldives > Resorts > Eriyadu Island Resort

Eriyadu is the northernmost island in the North Male Atoll which is open to tourists. Due to its remote location on the west side of the atoll, it offers ideal diving conditions, especially in the 'South West' season. It is classed as one of the best house reefs in the Maldives and because of its exclusive diving sites it can truly be called a diver's paradise. The island measures 300 metres in length and 100 m in width. You can walk around it easily in 15 minutes. The facilities were tastefully renovated in 1998 but it still retains its 'old fashioned charm.

A very relaxed unpretentious resort, hearty food and plenty of it. Ideal for those whose main aim of the holiday is the diving with an excellent house reef and because of its location good diving year round.

Diving

Eriyadu House Reef counts as one of the most spectacular house reefs in Maldives for both diving and snorkelling! Around the island there are 5 different entry/exit points to the house reef, which on most points starts close to the beach.
You can see schools of Fusiliers and quite spectacular is the big school of Batfish. Since the House reef offers a wide variety of coral and reef fish, it is a good idea to equip yourself with a 'reef guide' that gives a good description of the many different kinds of creatures you can meet around Eriyadu House Reef. The staff in the dive centre is happy to help you with any questions and advise on possible dive options.

Further afield morning and afternoon dives are on offer each day with occasional full day trips where lunch is taken onboard or on an uninhabited island. Diving from Eriyadu takes in northern North Male Atoll's best dive sites with around 40 dive sites accessible by dive dhoni, the local style of dive boat.
