Underwater
Photography

One of the greatest pleasures of diving is being able to share the wonders of the aquatic realm with others. Taking pictures underwater and sharing them with divers and non-divers is a great way of sharing your passion. By recording the beauty of underwater scenes, you can capture an emotion and pass the message that our seas are a fragile environment that must be protected.

Whether you are already a photographer or you would like to learn to take photos underwater, we can help by organising training sessions and trips in the UK and in tropical water.

Underwater photography training

To make the most out of your camera, we can offer training sessions, combined with pool training and/or open water dives. Whether you want to learn more about composition, digital post-processing or you are after technical tips, we organise informal sessions aimed at improving your pictures.

If you think you would like to 'make images' rather than taking holiday snaps, please don't hesitate to contact us. you could turn into a photography anorak quicker than you think !

The only prerequisite to the photography training is that you must be confident in your diving abilities. One of the most important skills for underwater photographers is a perfect buoyancy. You must be able to hover motionless without having to think about it and without crashing into the reef.

We adhere to and fully support the underwater photographers code of conduct.

Specialised tours

Underwater photographers have different requirements to recreational divers. When diving, they often concentrate on a small area of the dive site rather than swim long distances. They often need to dive the same site several times, in order to capture the perfect image.

With this in mind, Hidden Depths Dive Tours has decided to offer specialised trips, escorted by award-winning photographers Jane Morgan & JP Trenque, both committee members of the British Society of Underwater Photographers, Maria Munn and Len Deeley Their aim is to exchange ideas & tips, and hopefully bring better images home.
